My Story
When I used to go on holiday to Croatia, I always joined every activity the entertainment team offered. Aquagym, dancing—absolutely everything. I loved it all. But deep down, I had one big dream: one day, I wanted to be an entertainer myself.

When I turned 18, I started working in animation in the Netherlands, and I loved every moment of it. Still, my real dream was to live abroad and entertain guests under the sun. Last year, during my gap year, I got in touch with Ten Travel. Tine arranged everything incredibly fast, and just one week later I was already on a plane to Fuerteventura.

I spent five amazing months there performing in musicals and working in the mini club during the day. When I returned home in February, I immediately missed the atmosphere, the fun, and—most of all—the joy of making people happy. Tine soon came with a second challenge: in April, I could go to the beautiful island of Kos.

In Kos, I worked as an assistant team leader, which was both exciting and full of new lessons. Animation is so much more than running activities for kids and adults like treasure hunts, aquagym, yoga, or taking part in spectacular shows. The real magic lies in creating unforgettable holidays for guests. Animation is about loving people, loving entertainment, and being able to work hard—really hard.

Because yes, you make lots of new friends and get to know a beautiful island, but the job is no joke. Some days you work until late at night, rehearsing or preparing the next day’s program. But every single hour is worth it. When you and your team have put your heart into a show, and afterwards guests come up to tell you how much they enjoyed it, you know the hard work paid off.

In Kos, for example, we created a full African-themed show in just two weeks!
